Gramatik vs. The Beatles – Don’t Let Me Down 2012

Categorized as a ‘Slow Banger’ by the man himself is Gramatik’s 2012 rework of ‘Don’t Let Me Down’. Originating from the hip-hop / rap scene in Slovenia, Denis Jasarevic is now known for his Street Bangerz albums and compilations on Cold Busted. It is nearly irrefutable that the Brooklyn resident has already created his own genre which is a sweet blend between nu-jazz, hip-hop and lounge music. Whenever you listen to his works, you feel like you strive through the wildlife of the New York City jungle.

‘Don’t Let Me Down 2012’ is no other. The sample cuts and the added live instruments perfectly work together. That’s why I chose the picture by Indonesian Deviant Laleur Mapay Aray showing two vacationers freak out on the beach. Although you can easily recognize his trademark sound, it doesn’t get boring. Even if you haven’t witnessed the golden age of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, this bomb still lets you experience the special retro feel to it.
